WaterPulse is Shining Sparks' environmental monitoring project, built and run by our own youth volunteers. We install water quality sensors directly in local creeks to track conditions like temperature, flow, and water health over time.
The goal is simple: give our community real, ongoing data about the waterways in our own backyard, and give our volunteers hands-on experience building and maintaining real environmental infrastructure.
Built with support from the Town of Oakville
WaterPulse launched with $7,000 in funding awarded by the Mayor, which we used to design and build our own water sensors from the ground up.
We deployed 8 sensors total across four creek locations throughout Oakville, giving every site a full pair of sensors for detailed, round-the-clock monitoring.
